About

Our goal is to explore Edmonton - not as journalists, but as journalers. Unlike the Edmonton Journal and other newspapers, Journal Edmonton holds no commitment to objective reporting - instead, we work for subjective dialogue between our authors, the cityscape, and you (the readers). Working as journalers instead of journalists means that we use a variety of mediums to discover and convey our Edmonton experience - you may find a more traditional journalistic post here and there, but you can also expect to see photo essays, poems, letters, anecdotes, rants, and recollections. Basically, anything that you might find if the city itself kept a journal.

And, because we’re trying to keep a journal for a city of a million people, we’re open to any help we can get! Commenting on our posts is a great way to join in the dialogue about this city – correct us if you think we’re wrong, tell us if we got it right, add in whatever we forgot, and help us all in exploring Edmonton. If you have a story to share that you think warrants a post of its own, check out our submissions page, or, if you’re an Edmonton blogger too, contact us about guest posting as a means of cross-promotion.
